Mine did this until a BIOS update. Check the Lenovo release notes for your model, there was a thermal fix for several of them. Not saying it's your problem, but it's a cheap thing to try first. | by frobnitz |
other cause for the same symptom if anyone lands here: deleted files still held open. lsof +L1 shows those | by Anonymous |
Had this on a T470. Reloading the thinkpad_acpi module after resume fixed it for me, put it in a systemd sleep hook. Never found the root cause. | by Anonymous |
/var/lib/php/sessions, 6.1 million files. The cleanup cron got removed in some migration. find ... -delete has been running a while now but I've got space to deploy. Thanks all. | by nightshift |
find / -xdev -type d -size +1M will find directories with an unreasonable number of entries. PHP session files and mail queues are the usual ones. | by dmesg_reader |
IUse% 100. wow. How do I find them? | by nightshift |

ok. no requirements file of course | by mo |
bin/python is a symlink to the system python3.11, which isn't there now. ls -l will show it's dangling. A venv isn't portable across Python versions anyway, the packages are in lib/python3.11. Recreate it. The old site-packages folder is st… | by oldpc |
went from 12 to 13. now every venv gives "No such file or directory" when i try to run bin/python even though the file is right there in ls | by mo |
Better still to run the job with a MemoryMax= so it dies first without involving the OOM killer at all. Postgres getting a SIGKILL means a crash restart of everything. | by marta_k !izYA-5cv |
OOMScoreAdjust. Typo. Can't edit here. | by dmesg_reader |
Small box. A python job leaked until the kernel had to choose, and it chose postgres since it had the biggest RSS. Read dmesg, it's all there, including the score. Set this on the service you want to keep: [Service] OMScoreAdjust=-500 and l… | by dmesg_reader |
