Multicast between wifi and wired isn't getting bridged. Look for IGMP snooping or some "multicast enhancement" option on the wireless side and toggle it. Also check it hasn't put wifi in a guest or isolated mode. | by rproxy |
New router. Printer and the Pi are fine by IP, nothing.local resolves any more from wifi. From wired, it's fine. avahi-browse shows them on wired only. Any ideas before I start hitting things? | by kettle |
/etc, /home, a package list. In a tarball, on another machine, with a date in the name. It's not complicated. People just want it to be. | by vek |
Add the list of docker images with their tags. Latest moves. | by Anonymous |
Volumes, /etc, compose files, and the crontabs. I forgot crontabs once. Restore test twice a year, in a VM. | by oldpc |
I keep going back and forth. Right now: the docker volumes, /etc, and a list of installed packages. Not the OS. Not the media, that's replaceable. Curious what other people include and how often they test a restore. | by Anonymous |
vek you have never had to explain a CGI to someone who just wants the bank site to load. | by kettle |
Write a one-button CGI that comments out the include. Thirty lines. | by vek |
That's the correct reason. Pi-hole forwarding to local unbound is a common setup, nothing weird about it. | by rproxy |
Already have the unbound blocklist from my other post. The argument for adding Pi-hole seems to be the web page, so my partner can turn it off without asking me. That might be worth it by itself. | by kettle |
Added, thanks. Line count check still on the list. | by kettle |
unbound-checkconf on the generated file before the reload would catch the worst of it. | by nils !PxNS1ZCy |
Mostly so I remember what I did. Someone might also want it. - fetch.sh pulls three hosts lists, strips comments, dedupes with sort -u - writes /etc/unbound/blocklist.conf as local-zone lines - runs nightly from root's crontab, then unbound… | by kettle |
